• Obtain a few copies of the "Interact Handbook" (PA2-654-EN) from RI and read thoroughly.

  • Contact the Rotary Interact District Committee for help and guidance, in particular, Ed Robinson, Interact Club Recruiter.

  • Get approval of your Rotary Club to sponsor Interact, establish a committee and a chair.

  • Decide Between community-based or school-based club.

  • If community-based, you must choose a location for meetings, invite students to join from different schools within your Rotary Club's territorial boundaries, and provide a Rotary advisor who must attend every Interact meeting.

  • If school-based, contact a school superintendent and / or principal to arrange a meeting to discuss Interact, obtain their approval and relate the support of your Rotary Club; ask for help in selecting a teacher advisor; a Rotarian need not attend every Interact meeting.

  • Obtain the names of interested students and / or arrange an initail meeting to present Interact to the students; let students think about and discuss the obligations of membership, goals and activites.

  • Have an organizational meeting to adopt the standard Interact Club constitution and by-laws: Obtain a list of at least 15 club members, Elect Officers, and Discuss preliminary plans for activities.

  • Mail a completed copy of the Interact Club Organizational list to the District Governor for signature and approval; this will be forwarded to Rotary International. Mail another copy to RI to be sure list has been received.

  • Arrange to present the charter certificate to the new Interact Club.

  • All responses will be held as confidential Rotary information.
