Rotary International is made up of Rotary Clubs throughout the world.
Rotary Motto: "Service above Self"
Rotarians: 1,219,097; Clubs: 32,205; Districts: 529; Countries: 168 (3/31/05)
Interact: Members: 233,680; Clubs: 10,160; Countries: 118 (As of 3/31/05)
Rotary members, or Rotarians, are men and woman who live and / or work in their town.
Rotarians meet weekly to discuss and to work together to complete projects in their communities or
in locations around the world. A Rotary club sponsors a Interact Club which is generally made up of
high school students. Interact is derived from the worlds "International Action". Each year Interact
Clubs are encouraged to do at least two service projects; a community service project and an international
service project.
Rotary District 7510 consists of 49 Rotary Clubs throughout mostly Central New Jersey and more than
half of them are sponsored by Rotary Clubs. The District Interact Chairman works along with members of the District Interact Committee, the Rotary Club Interact Advisors,
and the Interact School Advisors to guide and support the Interact Clubs. The Interact District is currently
divided into 9 zones, which have about 4 or 5 local Interact Clubs. Each zone is directed by a Zone Administrator
(Rotarian) and one or more Zone Representatives (Students). Each Interact Club is advised to elect or appoint
a student rep to be in touch with their Zone Rep.
Mission statement: The mission of Rotary International is to assist and guide Rotarians and Rotary Clubs
to accomplish the Object of Rotary, to ensure Rotary's continuing relevance, and to help build a better
world, emphasizing service activities by individuals and groups that enhance the quality of life and human
dignity, encouraging high ethical standards, and creating greater understanding among all people to
advance the search for peace in the world.
The Object of Rotary is to encourage the four avenues of service: (1) Club Service - to be an active club
member, (2) Vocational Service - to have high ethical standards in business and professions; with regards
to you as a student, support should be given to your school, (3) Community Service - to improve life locally,
and (4) International Service - to advance understanding, goodwill, and peace throughout the world.
The 4 way Test of what we say, think, or do: (1) Is it the truth?, (2) Is it fair to all concerned?,
(3) Will it build goodwill and better friendships?, and (4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
